Background

“The real story of Roy & Turner Communications begins in 1978, in Montréal, when my father took me to the premiere of “Starmania.” I was nine years old, and I remember that evening as if it were yesterday. The music, the scenery, the costumes, everything mesmerized me. I said to myself that it would be incredible to be part of this exciting, creative world. Even today I often stop to appreciate the fact that I have made myself a place in this milieu.” Elisabeth Roy

After working as a press attaché for a few years at Juste pour rire and Communications Courville, Elisabeth Roy decided to found her own press agency, so she put together a business plan. She went to the bank for financing and despite her age — only 25 — she found people that believed in her ability to make her plan a reality. This is how Elisabeth Roy Communications came to be in January 1995.

Elisabeth rapidly recruited Jean-François Turner, who became her business partner. Five years after it was founded, Roy & Turner Communications was growing and busy with lots of contracts. In 2004, Jean-François quit the company for new horizons.

“Since Jean-François hasn’t been involved with the agency for several years, I am often asked why I haven’t changed the name. The answer is simple: I never felt the need. People in the industry know Roy & Turner Communications. A bit like in other industries, I chose to keep the name of a partner who was important to the company’s history.” Elisabeth Roy

Through the years, the company has evolved to become an integrated communications agency. It has developed new services — like the creative media component of ad campaigns, event organization, social media strategy — and built strong relationships with influencers.

Today more than ever, Roy & Turner Communications has a solid reputation and counts leading players in the cultural industries among its clients.

Recognition as a Partenaire bâtisseur (instrumental partner) of the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec in 2005 to highlight the availability and generosity of the President, Elisabeth Roy.
